Here is a map of Tahoe Donner amenities.
Mailbox
Tahoe Donner Association has several cluster box areas that are prioritized for full-time residents; however, they are managed by the USPS. You must obtain your Tahoe Donner mailbox through the United States Postal Service. The main post office is located on Jibboom Street in downtown Truckee. Many second homeowners do not have mailboxes. You may opt to get a P.O. Box, contract with the local post office, Office Boss or the UPS Store. UPS and Fed Ex deliver to homes in Tahoe Donner.
Mailbox Challenges: Mailboxes are in high demand; you may have to be on a wait list for some time. Consider getting a P.O. Box in the meantime.
Trash
Tahoe-Truckee Sierra Disposal (TTSD) picks up trash in Tahoe Donner on Tuesdays. You can visit their website for more details, just click on the link: Tahoe Truckee Sierra Disposal. Individual cans, bags, or containers must not exceed 32 gallons in volume or 60 pounds in weight. Cans should have tight-fitting lids that are not screw top. TTSD does not service the screw-top “bear-resistant” cans. Please call (530) 583-7800 for more information.

During snowstorms, trash is still picked up as long as your bear bin is dug out and clear of snow.
Yard Waste
As of June 30, 2018, green bags are no longer accepted for pickup by the Town of Truckee. Instead, free yard waste carts are available, and will be picked up every other week during summer months. The Town of Truckee website has full details about Green Waste Disposal.
For the months of May, June, July and August, Truckee residents may purchase a 6-yard capacity, yard waste-only dumpster through the Town of Truckee. Dumpsters are intended to be loaded with loose yard waste material, which means no bags. Dumpsters also accommodate larger woody materials such as limbs and branches in addition to pine needles, pinecones, brush, and garden waste. Call Tahoe-Truckee Sierra Disposal at (530) 583-7800 for additional details and to reserve your dumpster.
